Towering at six feet and three inches tall in bare feet, Gill Wagas of Lapu-Lapy city vies for the Mr. International 2013 title along with 37 other candidates from around the world on November 21 at the Skenoo Hall, Jakarta, Indonesia.
The twenty year old former University of the East Red Warriors member promised to give his best and make his countrymen proud as he represents Philippines in the international competition.
“I always do my best when I’m into something—especially if it’s a competition. I think that is part of my basketball training. So, yes, I am focused on winning,” said Wagas.
He believes that being one of the tallest in the group is already an advantage ’cause you get noticed easily, plus his being a model would help him project confidence and strong presence on stage.
To prepare for the international pageant, Wagas took tutorial classes in Speech and he visited the gym regularly. He was also mindful on the food that he ate, and made it a point to sleep and rest well.
“This is my dream, to represent the country and bring home the honor, I promise not to disappoint you but make you all proud instead,” Wagas added.
Prior to winning the Mr. Philippines International title, Wagas joined the Mr. Mandaue pageant where he landed 1st runner-up. He was also one of the Bench Uncut fashion show models.
Wagas is currently taking BS HRM at the University of Cebu.
