Team Philippines delivered the lone silver medal in the team event competition, losing the gold medal to Thailand, 2-1.

Johnny Arcilla lost to Thailand’s Kittipong Wachiramanowong in three sets in the semifinal round.

Arcilla won the first set, 6-2, but failed to capitalize his one set lead, giving Wachiramanowong an easy ride to the finals, with 6-1, 6-0 scoreline in second and third sets.

In the women’s singles, second seed Katharina Lehnert bowed to Kamonwon Buayam of Thailand in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, and settled for the bronze.

The Philippine netters end their campaign at the 2013 SEA Tennis Championship (TOYOTA (AEC) Championship 2013) with one silver and two bronze medals, a far cry from their 2011 SEA Games campaign where they won one gold, two silver and three bronzes.

At this year’s SEA Championship though, there is no mixed doubles event where Treat Huey and Denise Dy clinched the Philippines’ lone gold in this event at 2011 SEA Games.
