The Philippine national wrestling team will start their hunt for SEA Games gold medal today, as two of their veteran wards see action in the afternoon’s wrestling matches in the 27th Southeast Asian Games in N.I.S (1), Yangon, Myanmar.
Two-time and defending Southeast Asian Games champion Margarito Angana, Jr. of Zamboanga City will wrestle his way in hunt for wrestling’s first gold medal this afternoon in the 55 kg. Greco-Roman event.
Along with Margarito, many-time national champion Noel Ma Bella Norada will also see action in 60 kg. Greco-Roman event.
Both events will have the preliminary and final matches in the afternoon.
The Wrestling Association of the Philippines is confident with their wards, and hopes to equal or even surpass their performance in last 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia where they won 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Defending champions Margarito Angana Jr. and Jason Balabal are in Myanmar to defend their titles.
