Maurice Sacho Ilustre breaks 14-year-old junior swimming record

Team_Philippines_SEA_Games_2013Swimmer Maurice Sacho Ilustre broke the 14 year-old 200m Butterfly junior record of the 14-15 age band at the 2013 Speedo National Long Course Championship held in Rizal Memorial Swimming Center last December.

Ilustre, one of the prized swimmers of the Antipolo Gems Sea Scorpion, set a new record of 2:11.25, erasing Jonathan Villagracia’s long standing junior record of 2:11.51 set last June 4, 1999.

His new set record is also the third fastest time in the 200m Butterfly event for year 2013; behind Matt Abad Navata’s 2:04.20 and Johansen Aguilar’s 2:09.83.

Apart from topping the Boys 14 200m Butterfly event, Ilustre also won the gold medals in the 100m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle Boys 14 year-old events.

He won the silver medal in the 100m Freestyle, and bronze medals in the 50m freestyle and 400m individual medley events.
