Mark del Rosario bested 24 other contestants to win the Mister Philippine Universe 2014 title Saturday night, January 18, during the pageant’s finale held at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater.
The 29-yeard-old Rosario from Cavite will represent Philippines in the Men Universe Model 2014 in Dominican Republic.
Richard Mojado of Lipa, Batangas was proclaimed Mister Philippines – Planet 2014 while Baguio City’s Rickson Logaspi brought home the title Mister Philippines Tourism 2014 aside from being declared Best in Swimwear.
First runner-up was 18-year-old Charles Palomar of Makati City, and Jerico Pintoy of Maguindanao placed 2nd runner-up.
Top favorite Onakee Dela Cruz, a representative from the Filipino Community Australia, only managed to enter the top 12 semifinalists, and won the Mister 2GO travels special award.
The remaining semifinalists were Ethan Smith, 21, of the Filipino Community New Zealand; Edward Matro of the Filipino Community Dubai; Mike Gerard Mendoza of Bulacan; Gio Cabanlit Jr. of Albay, Bicol Region; Jeff Marti Gabriel of Tanza, Cavite; and Jerico Pintoy of Maguindanao.
The Best in Formal wear special award went to Jovinson Anog of Dasmarinas City, while Mr. Jerico Pintoy was adjudged Mister Photogenic.
Filipina supermodel-comedienne Wilma Doesnt and Mister World 2012 first runner-up Andrew Wolfe served as the pageant’s host. The Board of judges include beauty queen Ali Forbes, beauty queen-actress turned politician Daisy Reyes, and 25-year old international model Sam Turner.
