Michael Christian Martinez all set for Sochi Olympics

Seventeen year old Michael Christian Martinez is all set for his first Olympic stint at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia this February 7-23.

Martinez, who was born and raised in Paranaque City, has already trained since Thursday at the Iceberg Skating Palace where the Figure Skating event will be held. He is familiarizing himself with the “overwhelming” venue, hoping to do well in his short program which is slated on February 13, for him to advance to the free skating event the following day.

With less than a week to the opening, Martinez is filled with excitement and pride as he is about to represent Philippines for the first time ever in the Figure Skating event in the winter olympic games.
