Results of Filipino swimmers who saw action at the 45th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championship last month have been officially included in the 2014 Philippine Swimming Ranking.
Showing impressive performance in the said meet is junior age group Philippine record holder, Raissa Regatta Gavino, who registered her first junior Philippine national record in the 14-15 age group, after clocking 35.42 in the 50m breaststroke event, breaking Chrizel Lagunday’s 10 year old record.
A sure shoo-in in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games Philippine team, Roxanne Ashley Yu showed why she is currently the “Backstroke Queen” of Philippine swimming as she continued to stamp her class in all women’s backstroke events and claimed the top spot in the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke 2014 Philippine national ranking.
Another shoo-in for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games Philippine team is Jethro Roberts Chua who overtakes all local swimmers to claim the top spot in the 200m freestyle Philippine ranking, with a time of 1:56.49.
Fifteen year old swimmer and age-group veteran Kirsten Chloe Daos also clocked a YOG qualifying time of 2:25.45 in the 200m butterfly event, and at the same time took over the top rank in the 2014 Philippine ranking. Not just that, Daos also registered impressive swims in the 400m and 800m freestyle events, also taking the top spot of both events in the 2014 Philippine ranking.
