Power Pinays beat Singapore, barge into Asia Club Volleyball quarterfinals


The PLDT Home TVolution Power Pinays barged into the quarterfinals of the 2014 Princess Cup-Chang Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship after blazing past Singapore in straight sets on Monday, April 21 in Nakhonpathom, Thailand.

The Philippines wasted no time in sweeping the hapless Singaporean crew; reinforcement and three-time Olympian Regla Bell kept firing rockets en route to a 25-8, 25-19, 25-9 destruction that solidified their entry to the Final 8.

The Power Pinays wind up 4th rank in Pool B with a 2-3 card.

China Tianjin Bohai Bank topped the Pool B with 5 wins and zero loss, followed by Kazakhstan Zhetyssu Almaty which registered 4 wins and 1 loss.

Chinese Taipei grabbed the third spot in Pool B with 3 wins and 2 losses, while the Power Pinays ranks 4th.

The Power Pinays will most like face Hisamitsu Springs of Japan in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
