Results of 50th Malaysia Invitational Swim Champ now included in the ranking

Results of the 50th Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship held last April 11-13, 2014 at the National Aquatic Center, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – have been added to the 2014 Philippine National Swimming Ranking.

In the said swimming championship, Regina Maria Paz Castrillo breaks the 13 year-old 50m butterfly Girls 14-15 junior Philippine national record of 30.22, set by Luica Dacanay last October 2000.

Castrillo, set a new record of 29.44 en route to winning the bronze medal of the Girls 13-14 age band.

Apart from her new record, Castrillo also won the silver medals in the Girls 13-14 100m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley with times of 1:05.57 and 2:33.14 respectively. She also brought home another bronze medal in the Grils 13-14 400m Individual Medley event with a time of 5:27.25 – making her the most bemedalled Filipino swimmer in the championship.

Winning the lone gold medal for Team Philippines is Roanne Florence Yu who toped the Girls 18 and above 100m freestyle event with a time of 1:01.29. She also won a bronze medal in the Girls 18 and above 50m Freestyle event with a time of 28.10.

Olympian and come-backing swimmer, Ryan Arabejo, won his first international swimming medal after not competing for more than two years now.

He won the bronze medal in the Boys 18 and above 100m backstroke event with a time of 1:04.41
