Results of the Palarong Pambansa 2014 held last May 6-9, 2014 in Laguna have been officially included in the 2014 Philippine Swimming National Ranking.
Most notable performance is Maurice Sacho Ilustre’s 200m butterfly final swim where he again reset his 14-15 years old Junior National Swimming record to 2:10.07, from his previous record of 2:11.06 clocked in G-League Leg 1 swim meet.
With his new record, he takes the top spot in the 200m butterfly national raking, relegating Olympian Jessie Lacuna to second place with his 2:10.35 swim in G League Leg 1.
Calabarzon’s Arian Neil Puyo surprised everyone with his sterling performance in the meet, delivering most impressive swims in the 100m and 200m backstroke events where he now ranks 1st in both events in the national ranking after his 1:01.65 and 2:15.65 golden performance in the Palarong Pambansa 2014 finals.
NCR’s Skyler Claveria also showed a great form in winning the 100m breaststroke event with a time of 1:09.74, enough for him to take the top spot in the national ranking; while another NCR swimmer, Alberto Batungbacal, also takes the number 1 rank of the 200m breaststroke national ranking after clocking a golden time of 2:34.16 in the finals.
Suzanne Vernon Himor of Calabarzon on the other hand swam her way to the top spot of the 200m butterfly national ranking with her 2:25.21 golden performance in the finals.
