Ateneo started out strong, stringing seven straight points to turn a 5-5 deadlock to 12-5 lead in the first set. The Lady Eagles continued to pounce on the hapless Singapore squad, unloading another 5-0 run to take a decisive 19-9 lead and got six straight points en route to nabbing the 25-12 opener.
Feeling their groove, Ateneo once again got to a hot start in the second set, bursting for a 6-1 lead before slowly building a 20-8 advantage. Singapore struggled in that middle set as the Lady Eagles coasted to a 25-9 second set win.
